Packaging & Shipping
Can you help with framing prints?
For practical reasons, we don’t ship framed prints. This significantly reduces shipping costs and protective packaging waste. Most customers tend to want to determine how best to frame their work based on the space they intend to hang it. But feel free to contact Lizzie by email if you want to discuss suggestions for framing styles, colour palette, backing boards and dimensions.
Can I collect my print?
Yes, you can collect in person in Wellington direct from our printer – Art for Arts Sake (AFAS) in Marion St, Te Aro. The print will have been run to order, hand-signed and then be packaged flat with a cardboard backing and wrapped in a protective sleeve. This way it does not need flattening prior to framing. We would suggest this option if you were based in Wellington. And AFAS can frame it directly for you using the Lizzie Pannell Artist discount!
What packaging will you use / how will my print arrive?
All prints are shipped with a protective paper that avoids ink running, and are then rolled in cardboard tubes and require a short period of flattening by your framer.
What does shipping cost?
We are currently offering free shipping in New Zealand and a flat rate for international shipping, which is added at checkout. All artwork is appropriately insured during transit with our courier.
How long does shipping take?
Of course, it depends on the destination. We print as soon as possible after payment is received (typically a few days). The artist will sign and number all works at the conclusion of the week and dispatch to couriers on the Friday. Shipping itself then takes 2-3 business days in Wellington, 3-5 days in other New Zealand locations and 1-2 weeks to other global destinations. You will be provided with a tracking number. If you wish to opt for signature delivery, please do so at checkout.
Where is my order shipped from?
All prints are shipped from the printer in Wellington, New Zealand, where they can be hand signed by the artist.
Do you do urgent shipping?
We can arrange urgent courier for a small fee, but cant guarantee printer availability or courier timeframes. Please email if you need something in a hurry and we will see what we can do. We’ve all been there when we need a special present in a hurry or something in time for a deadline, and are happy to help if it is feasible.
Do you accept returns?
We take every precaution to ensure your artwork arrives safely. Returns are only available for prints damaged in transit. If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact us within 3 days with photos, and we will assist you with a replacement. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns for change-of-mind purchases by print or size, as they are a one off item printed to order.
Limited Edition Prints
What makes a print a limited edition print?
Fine art limited edition art prints are high quality reproductions of original paintings restricted to small, numbered runs. They are each hand signed and numbered by the artist. All the prints we sell are limited to runs of 30 or 50. The run size will be named in the print description online. Once the edition sells out, no more prints can be made in that exact specification. Due to the scarcity of a limited edition print, they are more highly sought after
How do you manage authenticity?
We only print your exclusive numbered work once it is ordered. Each piece is inspected for quality assurance, then hand signed and numbered by the artist who keeps a register of the limited edition catalogue. Additionally, each purchased print comes with a hand signed certificate of authenticity enclosed. We recommend affixing this to the rear of the piece once the work is framed so it remains with the artwork.
What are the prints made out of?
We print only on museum-quality materials with archival inks and papers designed to last 80-100+ years. The paper stock we use is Hahnemühle Photo Rag® 308gsm paper. The ink used is professional Epsom Ultrachrome archival pigment ink.
What sizes do you offer?
We use a standard set of paper sizes, for ease of printing and framing. The border thickness (white space between the edge of the printed work and the edge of the paper itself) on each side will vary according to the dimensions of the original work, but always with a minimum of 15mm white border.
For prints of square or circular originals, we have a series available in:
- 420 x 420mm
- 594 x 594mm
- 841 x 841mm
- 1m x 1m
For portrait or landscape (rectangular) works we have sizing available in:
- A2 - 420 x 594mm
- A1 - 594 x 841mm
- A0 - 841 x 1189mm
Will the colours be the same as on the website?
The print colours are perfectly matched the original artwork. The print may not be an identical colour match to your screen (laptop or mobile) due to your device set up and colour calibration settings.
Original Works & Commissions
Do you sell original paintings online?
Yes, I sell some original works online, however most tend to be for sale at exhibitions and shows, or are commissioned. Given some are framed and some are unframed, it is best to send me an email to talk about purchase and shipping. The process for shipping larger original works is bespoke when compared to that of prints.
Do you do commissions?
Yes, I love working directly with people to paint a custom commission and do this a lot. I love working with customers who have a need or a vision or a space and want me to help them bring it to life. I can create commissions in a range of styles and sizes, depending on the intention and the space. I regularly work directly or via interior designers so please reach out if you want to have a chat. See the examples of the range of commissions and the process in the Commissions section on this website.
When are you next showing or exhibiting?
I regularly exhibit in galleries, art shows and other public spaces or events. For the latest, please see the Exhibitons section of this website or subscribe here to my occasional emails. Best is to follow on Instagram to stay up to date with the latest news!
Can I buy originals through a retail store or gallery?
Yes, I am not exclusively represented by a single gallery and have works in a variety of locations across New Zealand, mainly Wellington. Contact me to find a space near you where you can see original works or prints in the flesh.
